Equipped with an 83-metre dome and a 19-ton bell, the Sacré-Cœur basilica located on Montmartre hill is the highest point in the capital after the Eiffel Tower. The foundation stone of this Romano-Byzantine monument was laid in 1875. Then, support work was carried out for months. The builders encountered many obstacles, between violent opposition from the laity, risks of collapsing and sabotage. The documentary goes back to this exceptional project, which saw several architects take turns building the “House of God”, which attracts more than 11 million visitors each year.
